Happy Birthday To Me

*It's my birthday, it's my birthday, bad b*tch contest and I'm in first place!* It's a lyric from a rap song but every time it's my birthday I sing loud and proud. I've always been raised to feel special on my birthday. Some people think of it as just another day, but my mom has always made me feel special every day but especially on my birthday. You see, I have a new found feeling of special today because I realize now more than ever that another year of life is a gift. To be alive is a GIFT in itself. We get so caught up in our day to day living that we forget that this life we live is temporary. Nothing is for certain and what we could have today could be gone tomorrow.

So, today is a special day for me! It is the day that God decided to give me life and give me a purpose. And as long as I'm living, it is my job to fulfill my life to the best of my ability, find my purpose, enjoy my time here, and make sure I make an impact on those around me. So cheers to another year of life! Remember to celebrate yourself, celebrate you! You are special! I've learned quite a lot in my early years of life and I'm going to choose to be unapologetically me, have fun in the process, and make sure to make those around me proud.
