Rock On Mama
hi beautiful people!
My stories on Instagram (catch them here) had inspired the writing behind this post. After carefully expressing my opinion as well as some awareness due to certain current events, it dawned on me that after posting them I felt a little insecure. Not in the sense that I was insecure or unsure about myself but more so felt like I was speaking “too loudly” and being “too much.” I quickly met those thoughts with affirmations of confidence and “Be loud even if your voice shakes.” I was able to talk myself out of those feelings and let myself know that I wasn’t being too much and if anyone thought so then that meant they were just thinking too small for me.
Anyone who tries to make you feel small or belittles you into fitting into a box that was not designed for you is not someone you want in your life; those aren’t your people. After quickly turning my feelings around I was pleasantly surprised to see a couple of Dm’s thanking me for speaking the truth and raising that kind of awareness. It was like a positive affirmation I needed on top of what I had already thought.
Point is, if you ever feel like you’re the only one standing tall against something or you feel alone in your battles, know that one, you are not alone, and two, you are obligated to speak and live in your truth; even if that doesn’t align with others. After all, you are here for you and to live YOUR LIFE not through the approval of others. REMEMBER THAT!
love always, Karina.
